Practical information to plan your trip to Cairo.
Cairo International Airport (CAI) is Egypt’s main gateway, with regular direct flights from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The venue is usually 30–60 minutes from the airport, depending on traffic. You may use Uber (recommend to choose Uber Comfort) or a London Cab (London Cabs must be pre-booked).
Another good option, we suggest arranging a private transfer directly through your hotel. Alternatively, you can arrange airport transfer with Cairo Airpot Shuttle by contacting them directly on 19970 or visit their website.
Please avoid unarranged local airport taxis, as pricing can be unpredictable.
If you require a visa, tourist visas can be purchased on arrival at the bank counters just before passport control
(Banque Misr or National Bank of Egypt). The fee is USD 30 (or euro equivalent), payable in cash or by card.
Before joining the passport control queues, you must complete a paper landing card.
This is sometimes distributed on the aircraft. If not, please ask the cabin crew or airport staff before passport control.
ATMs and currency exchange counters are available near baggage claim.
SIM cards (Vodafone, Orange, Etisalat) can be purchased in the arrivals hall.
Most places accept international credit cards and Apple Pay, so there is generally no need to carry large amounts of cash.
